Jurupa Hills, a sixth-grade only school in Fontana is the only school that offers AVID-- the Advancement Via Individual Determination program.
AVID is a program similar to GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) but differentiates from it by not focusing on high achievers. The program, according to Principal Rita Buchell of Jurupa Hills, is designed for students who have the desire to excel.
