Fontana Youth Not Too Young to Care

Full Description:

North Tamarind Elementary School's 3rd graders wrote to Mayor Mark Nuaimi about some changes that they would like to happen, particularly improvements on the local park.

The idea was sparked when the 14 young, letter-senders, heard a story in their class about a boy who wrote to the mayor about his friend who got hurt playing ball in the street due to the absence of a neighborhood park. The story ended with the boy helping get a park.

With the help of their teacher, Molly Gentile, the kids wrote to the mayor about their ideas about the park.
